Collection: Our Sapphires

Our sapphires are hand-mined in Rubyvale on the Central Queensland gemfields  — a place woven into our family’s life for over 40 years.

We don’t buy parcels. We dig them ourselves using simple tools — jackhammers, picks, and shovels — just hard work, patience, and time on the land.

My father began this journey, mining and cutting sapphires with decades of experience. Today, alongside him, our family, my husband and children venture out to the fields at least once a year. Dad & I facet our stones, mostly Dad because between designing, making and setting each piece of jewellery I rarely get the time to cut. I am working on getting Mark to engage in this wonderful and sometimes relaxing journey of faceting our beloved Sapphires, but until then, he just enjoys getting that jackhammer out and "having a crack". We can go days/ weeks without finding a gem quality Sapph to transform into a show-stopper gem ready for an engagement ring or who knows?  From the moment a sapphire is unearthed to its final setting, its journey and exact provenance is known.
